Simply, it is called a Royal Palace. An architectural masterpiece created over a century ago to house, perhaps, the most important family in Cambodia. Today, as in the recent history, the palace is one of the major attractions in Southeast Asia. Tourists all over the world camped to Samdech Sothearos Boulevard to marvel in curiosity and probably a bit of jealousy on the place built just for the king and his family.
So when in Phnom Penh, don’t forget to visit the Royal Palace. Just make sure that you bring with you a lot of water… and more. For the mean time, here’s a quick look on the marvelous sites inside.
